Using the Scenario/Filter Manager: Sharing Scenarios Within Client Files

Oftentimes you have several clients with similar investment needs and would like to use the same hypothetical illustrations or spreadsheet filters you create in Globe HySales with each of them. The ‘Scenario/Filter Manager’ provides ‘quick click’ access to scenarios that were previously saved in any client file. It also allows you to share or move previously stored hypothetical illustrations or filters from one client file to another. The following step-by-step will teach you how to use this helpful tool.

Step 1: The first step in using the ‘Scenario/Filter Manager’ is having a collection of client files saved within Globe HySales. Remember, to save a client file, simply select ‘Save As’ from the ‘File’ dropdown menu, choose your desired directory and assign a name for your file (ex. Jones.hys). Click <OK>. Your client file acts as an empty filing cabinet for hypothetical illustrations, filters, etc. Hypothetical illustrations can be saved within your client file by clicking <>. Assign your hypothetical illustration a name and description for easy identification and click <OK>. If you wish to save a filter run in the ‘Spreadsheet View’, click <>, assign the filter a name and description. Click <OK>.

Step 2: Let’s assume that you have previously created a client file named Jones.hys and would like to load a hypothetical illustration or filter saved within that file. To access the Jones.hys client file, select ‘Open’ from the ‘File’ dropdown menu, highlight the Jones.hys client file and click <Open>. Then, select ‘Scenario and Filter Manager’ from the ‘File’ dropdown menu. Highlight the name of the hypothetical illustration or filter you wish to open and click <Load>.

Step 3: For this step, let’s say you want to copy a hypothetical illustration from the Jones.hys client file to the Smith.hys client file. While the Jones.hys client file is open, choose ‘Scenario and Filter Manager’ from the ‘File’ dropdown menu. In the bottom box, click <Open Client File> and select your desired client file (in this example, Smith.hys). Click <Open>. Highlight the name of a hypothetical illustration or filter within the Jones.hys client file and click <>. The scenario will then be copied into the Smith.hys client file.
