Q. In the Globe HySales college planner, is there a way to illustrate a systematic investment plan that increases over time?

A. Yes, the new college planner enables you to illustrate this. In the college planner, click on the ‘Investments’ tab. Under the ‘Planned Future Investments’ box, enter the amount of your client’s systematic investment plan and by what percentage or dollar amount they would like to increase this investment over time. You can also indicate the investment time period. Next, click the <Add Another Future Investment> button to move the information to the ‘Summary’ box. Click <OK>.

Q. Can I include more than one index in the ‘Scatter Chart View’?

A. In the ‘Scatter Chart View’, click the < > button on the toolbar. An ‘Add/ Remove Index’ box will appear. Select the index you would like to add and click <OK>. To select multiple indexes, hold down the <Ctrl> key on your keyboard as you click and highlight your desired indexes. Click <OK> and the multiple indexes will appear on the scatter chart as blue dots.

Q.  When creating a portfolio hypothetical illustration, is it possible to make transfers between funds?

A. Yes, you can. Click the < >‘Hypothetical View’ button and select your desired funds.  Make sure the ‘Portfolio’ radio button is selected and click the ‘Portfolio’ tab. At the bottom of the screen, you will notice the ‘Advanced Portfolio Features’. Select the ‘Transfers’ radio button and a new ‘Transfers’ sub-tab will appear. Click the tab and select your desired funds in the ‘Transfer From’ and ‘Transfer To’ dropdown menus. Next, select the ‘Transfer Type’ from the dropdown menu and type in the amount and time period. Select the <Add a New Transfer With These Settings> box and click <OK>.

Q. Is there a quick way to sort the columns on the ‘Spreadsheet’ View?

A. Simply choose the column you would like to sort (for example, Return-10 Yr) and double-click on the gray column heading box. The column will be sorted in descending order (notice a ‘down’ arrow in the gray box).  To sort in ascending order, double-click the column heading again (an ‘up’arrow will appear).

Q. I’ve created a hypothetical illustration that I would like to print. Can I print the profile pages of the funds I’ve included in my illustration as well?

A. After you’ve created your hypothetical illustration, select ‘Print’ under the ‘File’ dropdown menu. In the ‘Views’ section of the ‘Print Dialog’ box, hold down the <Ctrl> key on your keyboard and click the ‘Profile View’. You will notice that three items will now be highlighted (‘Profile View’, ‘Hypothetical View’ and ‘Cover/ Disclosure Pages’), confirming that Globe HySales will print both the hypothetical illustration and the profile pages for the selected funds.

Q: How do I set up the spreadsheet to include only my client’s small number of funds?

A: In the toolbar, you will notice the < > and< > buttons. Click the < > button and a ‘Remove Items’ box will appear. Select the option that removes ‘All 3,000+ funds’ and click <OK>. The spreadsheet will now be blank. Next, select the < > button and add your desired funds in the ‘Add Items’ box (to select multiple funds, hold down the <CTRL> key while clicking on the funds). Click <OK> and the funds will appear on the spreadsheet.

Q: Now that I’ve created my client’s list of funds on the spreadsheet, can I save the list?

A. To save your newly created list of funds, click the ‘Spreadsheet’ dropdown menu and select the ‘Save List’ option.  Name your list and choose the directory in which you’d like to save it. Click <OK>. To access the list in the future, select ‘Open List’ from the ‘Spreadsheet’ dropdown menu.
